ABOUT US
Welsh Woman's Aid
At Castell Nedd Chess Club, we are dedicated to making a positive impact beyond the chessboard. That's why we have chosen to support Welsh Women's Aid, a valuable charity that tirelessly works to protect survivors of domestic abuse and offer them the support they deserve. Welsh Women's Aid is committed to raising awareness about the hardships faced by women in difficult situations. Through their campaigns, events, and training programs, they empower women who need help the most. By raising funds and supporting their initiatives, we aim to contribute to their mission of creating a safer and more supportive environment for survivors of domestic abuse.

If you're having issues and need to talk to someone, you can find a help guide here or contact their helpline here

Tyrone O'Sullivan
In memory of a remarkable advocate and supporter, we are dedicating this year's charity event to Tyrone O'Sullivan, the Branch Secretary of the National Union of Mineworkers who passed away in May. Tyrone O'Sullivan was not only a passionate advocate for the rights of mineworkers but also an adamant supporter of Women's Aid. By joining us in this event, you are not only contributing to a worthy cause but also paying tribute to a true champion of equality and justice. Together, we can make a difference and create a safer and more compassionate environment for those who need it most.
